HartBiologicals offers a coagulation control that is suitable for most instruments, which can help streamline the QC workflow and improve reliability, thus minimising the risk of false patient test results. Coagulation controls are plasma products that contain a known quantity of heparin and fibrinogen for use as a control during coagulation tests in clinical settings. They may be used to monitor PT and aPTT times, evaluate patients on heparin therapy, calibrate clinical chemistry analyzers, etc.

In the clinical laboratory, coagulation tests are vital in the diagnosis, diagnosis, and prevention of a variety of blood disorders. According to this, choosing the right QC system is crucial to ensuring optimal assay results.

Coagulation quality controls are used as references to ensure consistently high-quality results in coagulation testing. Types include D-dimer control, for monitoring D-dimer testing on coagulation, immunoassay, and chemistry analyzers; coagulation controls for routine coagulation tests; and hemostasis controls for coagulation factor and thrombosis risk assays. The controls are commonly provided in liquid format.
