National Thrombosis Week 2026 takes place from 5th to 8th May. This year’s event includes a free virtual programme focused on VTE prevention, diagnosis and management. It brings together healthcare professionals, patients and the wider community.

Thrombosis UK highlights that 1 in 20 people will have a VTE at some point in their life and that many cases occur during or after a stay in hospital. Thrombosis UK also provides helpful resources beyond the event itself, such as the Let’s Talk Clots app. The app shares medically approved information about blood clots.
