Lupus anticoagulants (LA) are auto-antibodies against the anionic phospholipid portion of the prothrombinase complex. The auto-antibodies that are produced are of the IgM or IgG class or both. These antibodies were first identified in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), where they were given the name Lupus anticoagulants.
LA-Con 2 may be used as an abnormal control when using tests for the identification of LA, such as the dilute russells viper venom test (DRVVT) or other phospholipid dependent tests used for LA identification. LA-Con 2 is prepared from the plasma of a patient with a high level of LA - STRONG. The control plasma should be used to gauge internal factors in each laboratory's system.
LA-Con 2 is supplied in the following kit sizes:
· 10 x 0.5ml LA-Con 2
