MEDICAL DIAGNOSTIC specialist Hart Biologicals has welcomed two new members of staff to its ever-expanding team.

Adam Blakelock, 26, from Horden has joined the company as Manufacturing Technician and Kevin Downes, 54, from Hartlepool has joined the company as IT Manager.

Both have previous experience in the health industry and are looking forward to beginning their new chapter with the company.

Adam has joined the manufacturing team, focusing on creating reagents and batches of products to go out to customers.

He said: “Joining the company is like joining a big family, even though there are a lot of people in the organisation everyone is so friendly and the atmosphere around the labs and offices is great.

“I’m really looking forward to getting to grips with my new role, and progressing further as the company continues to grow.”

When he’s not at Hart Biologicals, Adam enjoys exercising, in particular running and has already ran a number of half marathons including running home from work every Friday afternoon.

Kevin joined the company after 34 years of working in NHS pathology, specifically working within IT. His new role involves looking after the company’s vast IT system, performing regular upgrades and validation of the software packages used by Hart Biologicals.

He said: “It’s a big task to come in and begin upgrading an entire system whilst trying to get to grips with the role at the same time but I’m really excited about the challenge.

“The updates we will be making will ensure that we are compliant with all future accreditations and audits.

“I’ve really enjoyed meeting the team and getting settled in. As Adam mentioned there is such a great feel to the organisation and everyone here is so keen to take the company forward.”

In his spare time Kevin restores vintage pinball machines, and distributes them to bars and restaurants, he also enjoys flying model aeroplanes, music and socialising.
