Jamie Devonport, Richard Chapman, Adam Holvey and Adam Blakelock all took part in the Miles for Men race whilst Ann-Marie Nixon and her nine-year old daughter completed the Walk for Women, part of the same event.

All the team completed the challenge and commented on what a great atmosphere there was throughout the full day.

Richard Chapman, Research and Development Scientist at Hart Biologicals, said: “It really spurred you on to keep running when people were stood along the route cheering and clapping you.

“It was a great feeling crossing that finish line and getting our medals. I’ll definitely be doing the race again.”

The running and walking route runs along Seaton Carew seafront, allowing participants to take in the view before ending at a local leisure venue.

Ann-Marie Nixon, Sales Administrator at Hart Biologicals, said: “This was the first Walk for Women and me and my daughter had a great time doing it.

“We’ve raised nearly £200 just from our friends and family and are proud to be sending it to such a good cause.”

Managing Director of the company Alby Pattison will also be rounding up the final figure when all of the staff brings their donations together.

The team is still collecting its sponsor money, so if you want to contribute there’s still time.
