Hart Biologicals is proud to be celebrating a very special milestone in 2019. It has now been 10 years since the company moved into its premises at Rivergreen Business Centre in Hartlepool.

Hart Biologicals was initially started in a small (2,000 sq ft) business unit in Hartlepool before moving to Newburn Bridge Industrial Estate in 2005.

The company grew to occupy five units on that site and in 2009 moved to a 10,000 sq ft purpose-built site on Queens Meadow Business Park in the Tees Valley, which is still home to the company 10 years later.

At the end of 2015, Managing Director at the time Alby Pattison, invested £500k into a second 6,500 sq ft unit which allowed the company to separate the R&D and manufacturing arms of the business whilst expanding and developing them further.

Wendy Foster, Officer Manager, has been with Hart Biologicals since before the big move to Rivergreen.
She reminisced on her time with the company by saying: “At the beginning I only worked around 12 hours a week so the biggest achievement for me whilst we’ve been at Rivergreen was taking on more responsibilities and growing my own role with the company.
“This resulted in my appointment as Office Manager and I am so proud to be able to say that.

“Over the years it’s been great to welcome people to the team, and to see the workload increase, which has been brilliant.

“Building a relationship with everyone at Hart Bio has been special for me. Especially with Alby, who founded the company. We’ve all grown into not only a team but a family.”

Keighley Larkin, Technical Manager, joined Hart Biologicals right after the move in 2010. She said: “There has been lots of great moments in my time at Hart Bio so far. I loved it when we first started and there was only 12 of us on the team and now there is over 40 of us.

“It’s been great to see the company grow and to have the opportunities for me to develop my career.”

She added: “The main highlight of the last 10 years at Hart has to be when I met my husband Adam after we were both hired as R&D scientists. We’ve been married for four years now and have a beautiful daughter all thanks to Hart Bio. Who’d of thought a white lab coat could be a good look?

“I really do love my job here; I love the team and I get great job satisfaction knowing that the products we manufacture make a difference to patient care.”

Over the last 10 years, Hart Biologicals has grown into a company that now exports to over 45 countries and has produced and sold a number of innovative products including the Thombistat MC1Thrombistat MC4T-TAS 01 and Fiix Test.
